In the period from December 31 at 7 pm to January 1, 2021, at 11 am, 34.8 terabytes of data passed through Telenor's network, which is almost 50% more than last year. Most of the data was shared by users via Facebook, Viber, Instagram and YouTube. The increased amount of data transfer is also indicated by the fact that, during New Year's Eve, the traffic via the WhatsApp application increased by as much as 189% compared to the previous period.
Telenor customers sent more than 228,000 text messages (SMS) from 7 pm on the last day of 2020 to 1 January 2021 at 11 am, which is 30% less than last year. More than 580,000 calls were made during the same period.
More than 72,000 messages were sent between midnight and two in the morning, and over 100,000 calls were made during those two hours.
