The international certification company “SGS” has issued a ISO standard 14001 certificate to Telenor Montenegro. The standard for environmental management system guarantees that the company is responsible towards the environment and it takes care about sustainable business.

The certificate proofs that environmental procedures and politics in Telenor Montenegro are in accordance with the strict international standards and acts which regulate this area. During the certification process, the potential risks and influences on the environment are identified, and the company’s response to each risk is checked.

Environmental care is an integral part of the company's everyday business. Although telecommunications companies are not recognized as significant polluters, Telenor keeps reducing its impact on the environment each year. During the previous year, Telenor has recycled more than eight tons of electronic and electrical waste. The company has reduced the electricity consumption in its administrative buildings and shops by almost 20%.

Special attention is dedicated to education of employees, and Telenor implements its environmentally responsible policy through selection of waste in the company.

ISO standard 14001 is valid for three years, and compatibility of the company's operations with the standard requests is checked once per year.
