Telenor participated, as part of its socially responsible activities, in “Earth Hour” action, organized by Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) on March 30th. The lights in administrative building, as well as in Telenor shops across Montenegro, were switched off during one hour. WWF again warns of excessively use of plastics and its inadequate delay, which causes eight million tones of waste ending up in seas and oceans each year. As a company dedicating full attention to environmental protection, Telenor recycled 8.5 tons of electric and electronic waste and decreased fuel and electricity consumption for 20 percent during last year.

“Earth Hour” was held in Sidney in 2007 for the first time, and today more than 180 countries participate in the initiative. Together with million people and organizations around the world, Telenor sent a message that each of us is responsible for taking care of our planet.

Telenor Foundation participated again in a global initiative of marking April 2nd, the World Autism Awareness Day. With the aim at raising awareness of rights of people with autism, in the night between 1st and 2nd of April, Telenor building was lighted up in blue.

“Light it up Blue” initiative began in 2010. In many countries, famous buildings, bridges and other objects shine in blue light. It all serves to raising awareness of equality of people with autism.

As a socially responsible country, Telenor continues to participate in global initiatives, which are significant for the whole society, supporting ideas which can bring positive changes in various social areas.
