Initiative “Surf Wisely, Conquer the Internet” is expanding its’ channels of education and communication, and as from today all practical advices and broadcasted TV shows are available via application for smartphones which you can find on Google Play store.
(Podgorica, 23th January 2014) All interesting stories from “Surf Wisely, Conquer the Internet” initiative, on a subject of Internet as a safe digital environment, from now on children and their parents can follow up on their Android smartphones. Application “Surf Wisely” is educational and informative, with many interesting stories considering technology, guidelines for the security settings on social networks and also provides an option for users to ask questions.
Application is created by young Montenegrin programmers Lazar Bulatovic and Stevan Bogosavljevic, who have been supported and coached by Andrija Scepanovic from interactive design studio - fleka. Lazar and Andrija have pointed out that work on developing “Surf Wisely” application was very challenging, because of its visual identity and how the content should be adapted to the young population.
“Working on this project with companies such as fleka and Telenor had provided us precious experience that is very important for our further development”, said programmers of “Surf Wisely” applications.
Andrija Scepanovic, Android/iOS developer, said that, beside undoubtable talent and desire for expanding programming skills that Lazar and Stefan had shown, his job as a mentor had been a pleasure. “Beside already acquired knowledge, while working on project Lazar and Stefan had a chance to get to know new tools and ways of creating and connecting elements on Android platform”, Scepanovic has noted.
From Telenor, that is implementing Initiative “Surf Wisely, Conquer the Internet” second year in a row, have been announced that development of application is one step closer to wider availability of information regarding safe usage of global network.. “Interactive studio design fleka from the beginning of “Surf Wisely initiative” has been supporting our efforts to make Internet more safer safe and fun place for all of us. Our cooperation was formalized by Memorandum on cooperation, so our initiative is richer for one more important partner. In accordance with our good practice, we have involved young people in creating “Surf Wisely” application.
Now we are closer to youth as our target group and I believe that in this way we will additionally educate them on how to surf wisely. The application can be used via Telenor GPRS network and Wi-Fi connection. If a user is in Telenor network, Internet traffic when using the app will not be charged.”, said Telenor PR and coordinator of “Surf Wisely” Initiative Adrijana Husic.
