Telenor is awarded by Montenegrin Employers Federation with the Main Prize for consistent implementation of social responsibility principles in its business. The Main Prize is given to the companies which incorporate social responsibility principles in the most successful way through the employees, community and environmental care.

"We are glad that business community recognized our efforts to make Montenegrin society more prosperous. For the last 22 years of operating in Montenegro, we proved that we  are guided by the social responsibility principles, and I believe that the other companies will follow our example and join us in taking care for the better society", says Biljana Radusinović, Head of Human Resources in Telenor Montenegro.

During 2018, Telenor has realized several successful projects with its partners.

In partnership with UNICEF, Telenor started a three-year project "Digital safety for every child", aiming at enabling digital literacy basics to all children in Montenegrin primary schools. Parents, teachers and children will learn how to use all advantages of the digital technology and use internet safely.

This year was full of innovative apps creating. Telenor Foundation supported Red Cross Montenegro in „How to help yourself and others" app creation, which contains useful information about emergency situations, first aid and supporting vulnerable individuals and groups.

"PlanDet" app will soon be available to all primary school students in Montenegro. The app is developed by Primary School "Radojica Perović" and Bureau for Education Services, with the support of Telenor Foundation. The software contains information about various plants types and it will contribute to more interactive learning in the field of biology.

Telenor Foundation supported creating of „digital guide" through the Capital City, known as the „Click Podgorica" app. It contains base of 1500 hospitality and healthcare objects, culture and historical institutions in Podgorica. Circa 500 bus stations and 900 kilometers of bus lines can be found on digital map, and all bicycle trails in Capital city are also included in the map.

Five benches with free Wi-Fi signal will be installed on Gorica hill within „Green Wi-Fi island" project. Info panels will also be placed next to the benches, and project includes creating of the official website, which will contain all relevant information about the Gorica park-forest.

Telenor Montenegro is recertified with ISO standard 14001 for environmental management system, which means that procedures and politics of the company are in accordance with the strictest international norms in this area. Certification proves that the company recognizes potential environmental risks and identifies measures for reducing them, with the appropriate usage of new technologies and rational energy resources use. Telenor is the first mobile telephony operator in Montenegrin market recertified according to this ISO standard.  

Social responsibility is the essential part of Telenor business. Principles of community care are implemented by Telenor Foundation, established in 2014, which has supported dozens of social responsible projects so far.
