All customers are to be warned that if they get suspicious text message about winning awards under condition to call a specific phone number, not to do so because it is a fraud.
Having in mind that recently there have been some attempts of Telenor network misuse by sending false content via text messages, we kindly ask you to note the following:
All announcements you receive from Telenor are never sent from unspecified number. Instead of the number, messages are signed by Telenor. These are so-called spam messages, and calling these numbers or sending text messages can result in unwanted costs that can be much higher than the standard traffic costs.
You shall not call the number specified in the message, even when offering particular benefit. Telenor is not organizing contests with messages that are directing you to call somebody or send a message. Furthermore, we advise you not to do the top up to unknown number. Please, let us know via Telenor Contact Centre, number 1188, about these kinds of messages.
Telenor, as well as other operators, is not able to block these messages and calls, among other things because they are always being sent from new numbers. Given that the numbers of these messages are mixed with regular traffic, the reaction is possible only in the case that user reports it.
The primary objective of Telenor is to protect and inform users of the existence of these types of fraud in order to be ready to recognize the situation in which they are potential victims of fraud and react.
Telenor does not bear the consequences of the conduct contrary to the above explained.
