COMPETITION:TELENOR YOUTH SUMMIT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE WITH BEST IDEAS
Telenor Group launches a new global initiative, the Telenor Youth Summit, to be held from December 09-11 in Oslo. Owing to Telenor Montenegro, two of our representatives will be given an opportunity to exchange their ideas with others and participate at this unique ideas exchange event.
(Podgorica, September 11, 2013) – Today Telenor company has invited young people to submit their applications to the competition with an idea regarding technology and its use to effect social change, and win a chance to become Montenegro’s representatives at the Telenor Youth Summit which is to take place in Oslo in December. The Youth Summit is a new global initiative of Telenor Group envisaged as a place for exchange of ideas on the ways in which mobile technologies and Internet fuel growth and bring change.
All young people aged between 18 and 25 who submit up to 2-minute-long video file presenting ways in which technologies contribute to development of society can apply for the competition until September 30. A five-member expert jury will choose two best proposals based on innovativeness of the solution, authenticity, presentation and applicability of the idea.
“Young people are advocates of societal change. In the age of mobile communications, also an age of major and fast changes, young people play a special role and they should be given an opportunity to express their ideas. Telenor believes in young people, and we would like this competition to demonstrate that they also believe in themselves and that they are a real driving force of society,” Telenor PR representative Adrijana Husić said at the press conference organised to present this project.
fleka company Executive and Creative Director and a jury member Miloš Milošević has welcomed this Telenor’s initiative and invited young people to take part in the competition in large numbers. “This is another confirmation that mobile technologies are bringing people closer together and making the world of good ideas go round.”
Represent Communications Digital Communications Manager and a jury member Nataša Đurđić has said that owing to projects like this one, young people are becoming producers and not only consumers of ideas. “Entrepreneurship will teach them not to wait for a job, but to create them on their own, and the Internet is the principal field in which people with entrepreneurial spirit can develop and advance.”
The outcome of the Youth Summit to take place from December 09-11 in Oslo will be on display at the Nobel Peace Center in the shape of a digital bouquet of ideas and annual Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The summit will be hosted by our Telenor Group CEO Jon Fredrik Baksaas, in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center. Telenor Group launches this project in 13 markets in Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe and Asia.
